It’s a huge weekend for Cranleigh FC with three senior sides in action on Saturday, and plenty at stake. All matches kick off at 2pm, so make sure to get behind the lads.
Cranleigh Women’s and the Veterans aren’t in action this weekend.
Cranleigh Firsts
AFC Royal Holloway v Cranleigh | 2pm
Cranleigh Firsts are on the road to face AFC Royal Holloway. With the team building momentum in the league, this is another important test as they aim to keep climbing the table.
Joint Manager Sam Carpenter said the side are looking to carry on the momentum from last week. He said: “Last week’s cup win was a big result for us, and we’re looking to build on that momentum this weekend. The lads have been putting in the work in training, and we’re focused on putting in another strong performance. Consistency is key at this stage of the season, and we’ll be aiming to keep the momentum going.”
Cranleigh Reserves
Worplesdon Phoenix v Cranleigh Reserves | 2pm
The Reserves face a massive challenge as they take on Worplesdon Phoenix Reserves in the semi-final of the Surrey Intermediate Reserve League Cup. A repeat of last year’s final, this is a huge opportunity to book a place in the final and the lads will need all the support they can get at Worplesdon Memorial Ground (GU3 3RF).
Manager Ben Horne is confident the team is ready. He said: “The lads have been working hard in training, and we’re ready for the challenge. Worplesdon are a strong side, but we’ve prepared well, and the team is in good shape. It’s a massive opportunity to reach the final, and I know the boys will give everything out there. The support from the fans will be huge — we’d love to see as many Cranleigh supporters as possible on the sidelines to help push us over the line.”
