Cranleigh FC is pleased to announce the addition of two key players to strengthen the squad for the final stretch of the season. George Barrett and Josh Kipping have officially signed for the Cranes, adding depth and experience to the team. Both players have now been with the club for a number of weeks.
George Barrett, a commanding centre midfielder, has already made a significant impact since joining the club just before Christmas. His leadership on the pitch has been evident, having captained the side to several victories in recent fixtures. Reflecting on his journey so far, George said:
“I’m buzzing to be playing at Cranleigh FC for the run in to the end of the season. Since joining the club, I have seen a massive change. The effort behind the scenes is transforming the club. To come in before Christmas, not knowing anyone, to captaining the side in recent fixtures to multiple victories is an amazing feeling. We have a great group of players to build a quality squad with added depth to compete in this league. I look forward to the challenge ahead!”
Josh Kipping, a solid and reliable centre back, brings strength to the defensive line. His presence at the back is expected to shore up the team’s defensive resilience, giving the Cranes a strong foundation as they push for a successful end to the campaign. Josh said:
“I’m really excited to have joined Cranleigh FC for the run-in to the end of the season. Since arriving just before Christmas, I’ve been impressed by how well the club is run, both on and off the pitch. The squad has real quality and depth, and I believe success is just around the corner.
“I’ve known Carpo for years, both as a teammate and as my gaffer, so joining Cranleigh was an easy decision, even though he’s still yet to play me as a striker… (despite me already being on the scoresheet this season!).
“I’ve played at clubs like Cove FC, Knaphill FC, and Ash United, so I’d like to think I’ve got the experience to help some of the younger lads on and off the pitch. I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and hopefully adding a few more goals to my tally!”
Sam Carpenter, Cranleigh FC’s Joint Manager, expressed his excitement about the new signings:
“Myself and Paul (Jones) are really pleased to have secured George and Josh. George has already shown his leadership qualities and ability in midfield, and Josh will add real solidity to our back line. We’re building a great squad with real depth and quality to push on for the rest of the season. We’re excited about what’s to come.”
