Cranleigh FC is thrilled to announce the signing of Sam Taylor, known as ‘Tails,’ as the latest addition to the squad. Bringing a wealth of experience and a winning mentality, Tails is eager to contribute to the club’s push for promotion next season.
“I am very pleased and excited to be joining Cranleigh FC,” said Tails. “I’ve known Carpo [First team Joint Manager Sam Carpenter] for a number of years and even had the pleasure of playing alongside him. He told me about the project and the goal to build the football club and push for promotion next season. Hopefully, with my arrival, I can help take us to the next level. With hard work from the team, we will achieve our goals.”
Tails also highlighted the strong team spirit at Cranleigh FC: “We have a good group of lads who are all determined to reach the next stage and give the Cranleigh fans and community something to be proud of. Over the next few games, we can build as a team and push for a high finish this season. Still being in the cup is another boost for the club and the community, and we hope to bring home some silverware.”

Providing insight into his footballing background, Tails shared his journey through the leagues. “Being from South London, I started my journey in football at a young age. As a teenager, I played for several clubs, including Dulwich Hamlet FC, Fisher FC, Grays Athletic FC, Moseley FC, Knaphill FC, Fleet Town FC, Godalming FC, Broadbridge Heath FC, and Billingshurst FC. Over the years, I’ve gained a lot of experience and met many great players, learning a lot about the game. I hope to bring some of that knowledge to the younger lads at the club.”
Fans won’t have to wait long to see Tails in action, as he is set to make his debut this weekend against Hersham FC.
