How long have you been part of CFC and what do you love about the club?

I have only recently joined as a coach and manager of the under 9s squad, but my son has played for Cranleigh since he joined the Under 5’s team. Growing up I played football from a young age until my early twenties, so coaching a local team seemed like a natural progression.

How would you describe your coaching style?

I am super positive and love to shower the children with praise! The Primary school teacher in me naturally identifies and celebrates the positives.

What are the key attributes that make for a great footballer?

Physical fitness, tactical awareness, good ball control and technique will benefit any player, however, a great footballer doesn’t need to be ‘the best footballer’. A player who brings enthusiasm, dedication, communication and a positive mindset has the potential to become a great footballer.

What is the best advice you would give to players on becoming better footballers?

Be committed, be mindful of others, listen to feedback and embrace the game.

Which professional footballer, past or present, do you admire and why?

Growing up, Steven Gerrard was always the player who I admired. He was the reason I decided to support Liverpool and I always loved the passion he had for the game.
