Cranleigh Football Club has officially published its new Grievance Policy, effective from October 2024. The policy is an important resource to ensure that any concerns raised by players, parents, coaches, volunteers, or any other members of the club, are handled with fairness, transparency, and in a timely manner. The policy is a major step forward in supporting a positive, respectful, and inclusive club environment.
Club policies
The Grievance Policy outlines a clear procedure for addressing issues that may arise within the club, whether they relate to player selection, coaching concerns, or behavioural matters. It provides all members with a structured process, from informal resolutions to formal grievances, including the involvement of a Grievance Review Panel if required.
Cranleigh FC’s Welfare and Safeguarding Officer, Lisa Hard, said the policy is a vital resource in maintaining professionalism and fairness within the club. She said: “This is an important step forward for Cranleigh FC. The introduction of a formal Grievance Policy ensures that we uphold the highest standards of conduct and fairness. We’re committed to ensuring that everyone in the club feels their concerns will be taken seriously and addressed appropriately.”
All members of the club, including players, parents, and coaches, are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the policy. The full Grievance Policy is now available for download via the club’s website.
The Grievance Policy includes:
- Fair and consistent handling of any grievances raised by members.
- A defined scope covering all players, coaches, parents, and volunteers.
- Clear steps for raising concerns both informally and formally.
- A confidential and impartial investigation process to address issues thoroughly.
- Safeguarding considerations to ensure the safety and welfare of all members, particularly younger players.
