Despite the rain all week the Snoxall pitches were in remarkable condition a real credit to the groundsman.
Having never played Perrywood we didnt know what to expect but Cranleigh werent apprehensive and started well. An early chance as a shot from outside the area by Ethan Payne was tipped onto the bar by the Perrywood keeper. Another chance for Cranleigh soon after with Charlie Gibson shooting just wide. A great through ball by Sullivan Howick saw Leo Lord beat a defender and the keeper to put us ahead 1-0
Cranleighs second goal came as Charlie Gibson crossed to Sullivan Howick whos effort was saved but he managed to score with the rebound 2-0. Leo Lord then had his shot turned past the post for a corner , Alistair Hills heading the corner over the bar. Charlie Gibbson delivered a great cross from a corner and in the ensuing goal mouth scramble Leo poked home the third. With Cranleigh 3-0 up Perrywood had hardly been in our half as we dominated.
Yet another chance from a Dylan Bishop freekick and an amazing header by Ethan was palmed away by the keeper. Less than 5 minutes later it was 4-0 as Dylan turned home from a Charlie Gibson corner .
Half time and Cranleigh 4-0 up. Perrywood didnt register an effort on goal as the Cranleigh back 4 of Alistair Hill ,Jack Westerman , Buster Boomer and Harry Dancaster bossed the opposition front line.
So a great first half by Cranleigh but you dont win a match with one half we had to keep playing good football.
The second half started much the same as the first. It was all Cranleigh as Josh Maurizi hit the bar with a superb long range effort. Further chances fell to Leo Lord , Ethan Payne , Charlie Gibson and Jack Rogers but we couldnt seem to add to our 4 goals. A great cross from the left by Jack Rogers was met by Sullivan who clipped the post as he slide in.
Finally Cranleigh scored a fifth with Jack Rogers volleying home on the run from outside the area ,a fantastic strike for 5-0. As the game became a bit more lose Perrywood had their first chance to score but Isaac Denton – Miller who hadent had much to do all game was alert enough to keep them out.
The game finished with Cranleigh camped in the oppositions half without managing to score again with numerous attempts squandered.
Final score 5-0 and a dominant display by Cranleigh.
