A busy weekend ahead with all five senior Cranleigh sides in action across Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday 22nd March

Dial Square v Cranleigh Firsts

2pm, Alwyns Lane, Chertsey Town FC

The Firsts are on an impressive run, closing the points gap and climbing the table. After a frustrating 1-1 draw last weekend at Royal Holloway, they’ll be looking to take that momentum into a tough clash with table-toppers Dial Square.

Joint Manager Sam Carpenter is bullish going into the fixture. He said: “Dial are coming off the back of a couple of solid wins against lower-ranked opponents. They’ve been a strong side this season and deserve their place at the top. However, we tend to step up against tougher opposition, so I expect a close game that will come down to who wants it more on the day.

“Hopefully, we can do teams like Walcountians, Wimbledon, and Worcester Park a favour by shaking things up with an ‘underdog’ away win.”

Tongham Reserves v Cranleigh Reserves

2pm, Poyle Road Recreation Ground

A midtable encounter, where the Reserves can push up the table with a win. They’ll be buoyed by their success in last week’s Reserves Challenge Cup semi-final.

Cranleigh Development v Laleham A

2pm, Glebelands

Cranleigh Development are on the up, and this home fixture provides another opportunity to continue their positive momentum.

Sunday 23rd March

Cranleigh Women v Guildford City Ladies

2pm, Glebelands

After a week’s break, the Women’s team is back in action. They’ll face Guildford City Women, just one place above them in Division 1 South. The Cranes have shown solid improvement recently and are aiming to end the season on a high. A great way to spend your Sunday afternoon, come down and support the team.

Nick Bamford, Manager, Cranleigh Women, is looking forward to another positive weekend. He said: “On Sunday, we look forward to hosting Guildford City Ladies at Glebelands School. We consider Guildford City a key benchmark for our progress as a team. Last season, we faced two heavy defeats (9-0 and 6-0), but this year we’ve made significant strides, with two much closer games, losing 3-2 and 3-1.

“For our third match, we are eager to show our continued improvement and demonstrate how tough we are to break down.”

Woking Veterans Wanderers v Cranleigh Veterans

10.30am, Woking Sportbox

The Veterans are eager to get back to winning ways this weekend. After a strong start to the season, they’re looking to secure more points and continue their push up the table.
