Super Sunday because all three women’s teams were in action

Cranleigh Whites 0 Merstham Ladies 1

An entertaining, end to end 7v7 Surrey FA Flexi League match at Snoxhall. Neither side dominated the game, and the only difference was a tap-in goal for our guests in the first half. A narrow miss with a powerful low shot from Soph so nearly gave the Whites a much-deserved point. Like Cranleigh Merstham have a great attitude on and off the pitch and it’s always a delight to host them.

Kingswood Blues 2 Cranleigh Blues 2

Despite conceding an early goal our Blues Team equalized quickly with a shot from Emma into the top right-and corner. There were some good passages of play from both sides with fast counter attacking football

Mollie got the second for Cranleigh with a fantastic low shot from distance hitting the back of the net. Kingswood equalized late in the game in a hard-fought battle which could have gone either way

Cranleigh FC Women’s Firsts 0 Richmond Park Development 4

No disgrace losing to this side who are top of the table and dominating Surrey Division 1. But we never make it easy for any team and we twice came close to getting on the scoreboard. Soph (having played earlier in the Whites 7v7 match) rattling the opposition woodwork with a stunning shot and Maddie with a run and shot narrowly skidding past the far post

Great credit to the Cranleigh women who are improving each match in terms of technical and tactical skill. And a shout out to our two goal keepers, Rose & Tilly each with some great saves during the match

We go again next Sunday 19th Feb with Blues away at Kingswood Aquas and Cranleigh FC Women’s First at home to Beecholme Belles Ladies
