There was more to this 2nd round of the cup than the result would suggest. Despite controlling the game for long periods, Cranleigh struggled to take their chances and only saves from keeper Dam Laws and a goal line clearance from Harry Nicholas kept the score level. Just before the break a James Hughes header settled the Cranleigh nerves and they came out firing in the second half. Classy build up play and clinical finishing (another hatrick for Cam Lawson and two good goals from the hardworking Harry Guidici) put the game beyond doubt despite all the home side’s great work ethic. Round 3 awaits.
