Last season these two were involved in three cracking encounters (one of which went to penalties) and this one didn’t disappoint. Although the final score suggests otherwise this was nip and tuck all the way with two good footballing sides battling it out. The home side broke the deadlock midway through the first half, when who else but the deadly Camron Lawson seized onto on a slide rule pass from Isaac Collins and coolly slotted home. Moments later good interplay from Toby Hurman and Alex Korniotis provided the ideal opportunity for the impressive Ryan Taiani and the home side led 2-0 at the break. The second half saw intense pressure from a skillful Meads side who found keeper Dan Laws in fine form. An outstanding double save from Laws with 15 to go saw Cranleigh take full advantage and a quick break led to a free kick just outside the opposition’s box. A fine delivery from Isaac Collins saw defender James Hughes power home from close range to put the result beyond all doubt.
