Charlie Dyer, currently a CYFC U16’s player, has spent a second, successful season playing for the Woking FC Academy. They have enjoyed a very good season playing in the National Nerf Junior Premier League and are currently top of the table.
Charlie has played for Cranleigh Youth under the guidance of Steve Flynn and Ian Barker for the past five years and now plays for Cranleigh at every opportunity he can. He was asked to trial for Woking FC following a school game two seasons ago and has been a regular starter in their squad ever since. He trains with both Woking and Cranleigh weekly and enjoys the different styles of coaching he gets at both. He has now been offered a place in their U18 Academy but has choosen to persue an alternative career path which will not allow him to continue there. He is hoping to come back and play for Cranleigh full time next season.
Cranleigh Youth FC is flourishing and doing very well with regard to developing emerging talent. It shows that the coaching, the club structure and the club ethos are all working well. Other children that have been given the opportunity to play within the Development and Elite Divisions other clubs include;
Harry Nicholas U15 (Arsenal)
Cameron Lawson U15 (Chelsea)
Harry Nicholas, Jack Burr, Ryan Taiani & Luca Ellis U15 (PDA Academy)
Harvey Dyer U14 (Brighton & Hove Albion)
