Just 2 weeks after the home fixture, these two were pitted against each other yet again in what was to be the last game before the Christmas break. There was little to choose between them for the first 20 minutes but just before the break, Cranleigh’s fast flowing football started to pay dividends and they looked the better side. 15 minutes into the second half, a defence splitting pass from central midfielder Isaac Collins, put Camron Lawson into a one on one duel with Chesworth’s keeper. As you would expect, the deadly striker didn’t disappoint and cooly slotted home from just inside the box, cruelly sending his adversary the wrong way. As expected the home side piled on the pressure but found keeper Dan Laws in irresistible form, pulling off two wonder saves within minutes of each other. With under 10 minutes on the clock, the visitors doubled there lead after substitute Dan Pearce forced Chesworth into a poor clearance before calmly putting the ball into the back of the net from an almost impossible angle. The visitors went wild, smothering the striker for wrapping the game up and leaving the battle for the League title once again, wide open
Goals – Camron Lawson, Daniel Pearce
Man of the Match – Dan Laws
