After last weeks excellent performance in the Surrey Cup it’s back to league business.
Cranleigh dominated the early stages but struggled to get there passing game going due to a very heavy pitch. Dom put a great ball through to Arthur who would have been one on one with the keeper if he hadn’t been off side. The boys persistence eventually paid off when Raul broke the deadlock with a good individual goal.
Loxwood came more into the game and after some pressure Cranleigh hit them on the break, earning a corner. A great delivery to the near post meant Elliot scored the second.
Loxwood came out hungry in the second half and put the ball in the box causing a massive goal mouth scramble resulting in a great save from Jake. Cranleigh, as hard as they tried couldn’t find a third. Loxwood attacked well down the left wing and clawed a goal back. There were numerous calls from the boys that the ball had gone out for a goal kick prior to the goal, and subsequently have been reminded to play to the whistle! Against the run of play Loxwood made an another attack down the left ending with a good cross and well taken goal to make it 2-2. Loxwood could have had another clear opportunity if it wasn’t from some crunching tackles from Rylan.
Final score 2-2.
