This weekend sees all three of Cranleigh’s senior teams in action, with two home fixtures and one away challenge as they look to build on recent performances.
Before the Firsts kick off on Saturday afternoon, the usual round of matches for the Youth Teams will be taking place across Snoxhall Fields. Those attending the Youth matches can once again enjoy a bacon roll and hot drink at the Snox Snax Tea Bar, located at the Snoxhall Pavilion. Cards accepted.
Cranleigh Firsts vs Battersea Ironsides
Saturday 3.00pm at Snoxhall Fields
Cranleigh Men’s First Team will take on Battersea Ironsides at home, hoping to bounce back after their hard-fought match against Worcester Park last week. Despite a tough 3-0 defeat, the Firsts put in a spirited performance, especially after going down to 10 men. The team will be bolstered by the return of key players and will be determined to get back to winning ways in front of the home crowd.
Look out for stand-out defender Ciaran Lynch, who continues to impress with his solid displays, as well as young talents Mackenzie and Ben Beazely, who have been instrumental in attack.
Cranleigh Women’s vs Guildford Saints
Sunday 2.00pm at Glebelands School
After a gritty 3-3 draw with Milford & Witley, Cranleigh Women’s Team will be looking to build on their momentum as they take on Guildford Saints at home. Sophie’s incredible pace and finishing prowess down the wing were key to earning a point last week, and the squad will be eager to continue their journey of improvement.
This fixture promises to be another intense battle as the team aims to claim their second win of the season and climb up the league table.
Cranleigh Veterans vs Headley
Sunday 10.30am away at Headley
The Cranleigh Veterans head into their fixture against Headley full of confidence after their dominant 4-0 win over Old Wimbledonians in the Peter Hobdell Challenge Cup. Captain Mikey Barbato was the hero of the day with a spectacular hat-trick, and the team will be looking for another strong performance to keep their cup momentum rolling.
With players like Tom Puttock solidifying the defence and substitute Stefan Brash adding attacking flair, the Vets are determined to secure another victory on the road.
