We took on high flying Beecholme Belles at the Bruce McKenzie Memorial Field on Sunday 19th February. This was our third league match against them this season, so we knew we were up against a well organised and talented side. We gave them a run for their money and despite them going into a four-goal lead at half time the team did not cave-in.
Our performances tend to get better in the second half of each match and that was the case with this game. In fact, we dominated for long periods of the second half and played some of our best football. We “drew” the second half 1-1 with a stunning header from Leila converting a well worked cross at the near post (sadly no points are awarded for drawing the second half!)
Our opposition awarded a well-deserved “player of the match” to Katie M but every player can be proud of their performance today and the incremental improvement each match that we are witnessing continues.
