Cranleigh FC Women faced a tough test on the road this weekend, falling to a strong Milford & Witley side in a challenging fixture that ended 8–1.

The game took a difficult turn early on when goalkeeper Lily was forced off through injury in the first half. Stepping up with courage and determination, Hardie took over between the sticks for the remainder of the match, showing true team spirit.

Despite trailing 5–0 at half-time, Cranleigh showed real resilience in the second half. They began to find more rhythm, battling across the pitch and putting together passages of play that better reflected the team’s quality.

Milford & Witley added three more goals after the break, but Cranleigh’s efforts were finally rewarded with a well-worked goal finished confidently by Maria – a bright moment in an otherwise tough afternoon.

While the result wasn’t what they’d hoped for, the second-half performance showed the grit and unity that define this Cranleigh side.
