Facing relentless 40 mph winds, driving rain, and freezing conditions, Cranleigh Women showcased their determination and flair in a narrow 2-3 defeat to Guildford City.

The match started brightly for Cranleigh, creating early chances despite the tough conditions. However, a defensive error gifted Guildford the opening goal. Undeterred, Cranleigh responded with a well-struck equaliser from Genevieve, lifting the team’s spirits.

Guildford regained the lead before halftime, though a contentious offside decision denied Caroline an equaliser after she latched onto Faye’s flick-on and finished superbly.

In the second half, Cranleigh battled against the elements, conceding a third goal but refusing to give up. Hardie’s first goal of the season, a well-worked effort, brought Cranleigh back into contention late in the game.
