After last week’s thrilling 5-5 draw, Cranleigh FC Women’s Team left nothing to chance in their Division 1 South rematch with Guildford Saints, securing a commanding 1-8 victory, after leading 7-1 at half time. From the whistle, Cranleigh looked determined and fully in control, learning from the previous encounter and successfully neutralising the Saints’ main offensive threat.

Caroline was on fire, scoring five goals in the first half alone, while Soph added two, including a powerful penalty strike that showcased her skill and confidence. Cranleigh’s 4-3-1 formation, deployed to counter Saints’ 9v9 setup under league dispensation, proved highly effective, allowing them to dominate possession and exploit spaces on the wings.
Laura delivered a player-of-the-match performance in goal, shutting down any opportunities Saints managed to create. Fi’s control of central midfield and Cranleigh’s rapid wing play added to the home team’s frustrations, as they found themselves unable to match Cranleigh’s pace and precision.
